KabaleKisoro
Kisoro district is located in the South Western corner of Uganda and borders with Rukungiri district to the North, Kabale district to the East, Rwanda to the South and the Democratic Republic of Congo to the West.
The economy of the district is one of the less developed in the country. The main economic activity is agriculture majority of the people are engaged in small scale peasant agriculture for subsistence. Other economic activities include black smith industry, (tools made include knives, spears, single forked hoes which are sold locally), fishing and the sale of crafts.
Bwindi National Park
Bwindi National Park is one of the country's newest national parks. It was gazetted in 1991 with an area of 331 km2to conserve the last rarest remaining of Mountain Gorillas. It is a home to half the world's surviving several families of the Mountain Gorillas and an important sciencetific conservation program. The Park is located in south westernUganda, covering parts of Rukungiri, Kisoro, and Kabale Districts. It is situated in a hilly country side which, together with some remnant lowland forest outside the boundary, constitute an important water catchment area for many rivers, supplying the agricultural land of the surrounding region.
The rainy seasons in the south are from April to May and October to November, the wettest month being April. In the north the wet season is from April to October and the dry season is from November to March.
